UNITED WE STAND UP, is a 501c3 community-based organization that was birthed on the Eastside of Los Angeles. We are a coalition of reformed community members from different areas in South Central LA who have discovered our God-given purpose, of which changed our focus. We are the real-life demonstration of how powerful the message and manifestation of peace is when centrally focused energy unifies. Collectively, UNITED WE STAND UP shares a distinct connection with one another due to our unique and shared experiences. We aim to honor our communities by rebuilding the neighborhoods we once helped dismantle. To accomplish our goal, we embody a 3-prong model: 1). healing, 2). unifying communities, and 3). changing maladaptive norms within gang culture. Each effort is geared to enable peaceful living for future generations as well as to drive communities forward by providing positive guidance, comfort, and security that only our extraordinary bond can accomplish. We are the real-life representation of these characteristics and the living result of this model. We exemplify the example of what ‘peace in the streets’ looks like for those who have never seen it. We have made the concerted effort to come together and push forward the agenda of transformation in our communities. United, we stand up.
